My journey to writing UNBLOCK

I thought I’d share a bit about my journey to writing "UNBLOCK: Transform Your Profitability Through a Culture of Productivity in Just 100 Days." This book is the culmination of years of experience, countless hours of research, and a deep passion for helping organisations unlock their full potential.

The idea for "UNBLOCK" came from my observations and experiences working with various organisations. I saw a common thread: despite having talented teams and ample resources, many companies struggled with productivity. Improvement projects were being conducted in isolation, so they rarely delivered the expected return on investment.  Our human propensity to lethargy hampering the ability to improve productivity.  I knew there had to be a better way.

Drawing on my background in organisational productivity, I began to develop a framework that addresses these issues head-on. The goal was to create a comprehensive, actionable guide that leaders could use to foster a culture of productivity within their organisations. And that's how the concept of "UNBLOCK" was born.

I have learnt that writing books is best done when there are no distractions.  So 98% of this book was written, 1,500 words a day during a summer holiday touring the North Coast 500 (a trip around Scotland) in our motorhome.  It has allowed me to distil my knowledge and insights into a structured format that could benefit others. I have included countless case studies which I hope will bring the theoretical concepts to life, and help everyone apply it to their own organisations.

In "UNBLOCK," I cover a range of topics, from how to measure an organisation’s productivity, conducting productivity audits and prioritising improvements to creating a culture typified by productivity and leveraging technology. Each chapter is designed to provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to drive significant productivity gains in just 100 days.

I hope you'll join me on this journey and discover how "UNBLOCK" can transform your organisation's productivity and profitability. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to hearing about your success stories!
